Shoot the rule-breakers?

Posted on December 21, 2006. Filed under: frustrations |

There is a huge frustration of mine which has to do with people not following standards, like the web standards.  Everytime I need to start internet explorer just to see a site properly, i feel upset.  And the fact would be that it was just the layout… that because content overlapped in firefox/seamonkey/mozilla/opera/shitera, i could not even read the site properly.  the other fcuky thing i hate is the flash/plugin gang.  The biggest hate i have is sites that tell you to download adobe acrobat to read the pdf files.  There are two great alternatives… foxit and ghostscript.  adobe acrobat reader is huge download, slows down my pc and shows the pdfs very slowly.  foxit is small and fast.

The biggest reason i have for calming down is that if it were not for rule breakers, we would be lucky to be still living in caves… or we would be extinct.  the other side of the “creative” coin is “destructive”… something must go for something new to take its place.  moving ahead means leaving things behind.

I get a slight relapse of these frustrations because these people are breaking the wrong rules, or in the wrong way.

That is quickly countered with the understanding that these people are experimenting and an experiment can fail.

I swing between tolerance and fundamentalism.
